Dragon Head: Side View

ZOMG, learn how to draw dragon heads! :O

This first part will cover the side view since it's the easiest to draw. (Seems to apply to every animal, eh? Except humans; they seem to be the hardest to draw when viewed from the side. >_o)

1. Drawing the basic shapes for the head.

M'kay. So, for the first step we're going to draw 3 different things, as you can tell by the picture.

Ready?

First, start out with a circle. This will be the main part of the dragon's head/skull.

Next, draw a rhombus-like shape from the circle; this is the dragon's snout.

Then, draw a line from the opposite side of the circle to indicate the neck.

2. Adding guidelines.

Let's add a few more guidelines. :P

I almost always start from the top of the circle and draw down to the snout. This will be the eyebrow as well as a guideline for the placement for the eye. (A guideline for a guideline, lolwut?)

The next one will be a straight line across the "snout" to separate the upper and lower jaws.

3. Drawing the upper jaw.

Okay! Now let's put some meat in this guy! XD

So, let's draw in his upper jaw...

4. Drawing the lower jaw.

Then the lower jaw...

(Notice that I'm kinda-sorta following my guidelines?)

5. Finishing off the head.

And finish the rest of the head. (While erasing some of the unnecessary guidelines.)

6. Details, details.

Now... Details. Put in the eyes and nostrils.

Don't stop there, he looks boring! So draw in some teeth, horns, spikes, belly scales, etc.

7. The final result!

And... We're done! XD
